- Chrome is not malware. There is no valid reason for Microsoft to be warning me about a Chrome download, and the use of the word “warning” is Redmond’s language, not mine.
- If you want to use a different version of Chrome, uninstall Google Chrome and then download and install it again. Can't install because you're not an administrator on Windows. To check if you're an administrator: On your Windows computer, click the Start menu:.

I am having the exact same issue and I still haven't been able to resolve it. I am not sure what the problem is. I am running Firefox now, but when I attempted to install the google plugin for hangouts I got the same error..something is blocking chrome and googlevoiceplugin from being downloaded and it isn't my firewall..if I use the offline installer I cannot update chrome when an update is available-I am getting stuck at updating at 0%..again.
Have you found a way to fix this issue?
Thank you,

I am having trouble installing Chrome on Windows 10:
First I press 'Download now' on https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/desktop/index.html in internet explorer.
I then press 'Accept and Install' to the terms and conditions.
And then say 'Yes' when it asks if I'm happy for it to make changes to my PC.
It then connects to the internet and starts 'Downloading'. It is on 'Downloading' that it gets stuck - not progressing past 'Downloading' or showing any other signs of progress even after several hours.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? or know of a way round it?
I had the same problem.
I downloaded the stand alone chrome setup file and threr was no problem installing it.
the link is below:
https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/desktop/index.html?standalone=1
the page looks exactly as the online setup page, but no worries you will be able to download the full set up file.
cheers!
